Our Vision

Our vision is to nurture and nourish our pupils so that they contribute to society.

We hold the firm belief that instilling strong Islamic morals and teachings at an early age in our children will develop them into the productive future members of society that our vision statement aspires.

We want our children to hold a clear distinction between right and wrong.

We believe that it is important for all individuals to positively and actively contribute to their communities. We support endeavours that strengthen family values while emphasising the importance of sound personal ethics and the need to contribute to the community.

The Beacon Lights follows a practical holistic approach in ensuring that we can fulfil our vision statement:

Beacon Lights School is a place where a robust and forward-thinking curriculum nourishes our young people and advances our community’s hopes that they will become healthy, conscientious and productive future members of society.

Our vision is encapsulated within our CARAT ethos.

Carat is a word that expresses the purity of gold and derives from French, Italian, Arabic and Greek roots. It represents a rich international history that reflects our school’s diverse, fully-inclusive intake.

Consideration for the rights of others

In particular with regards to property and personal safety, expressing the fairness and justice that are everyone’s rights.

Appreciation of difference

The appreciation of diversity in social and cultural background that is a distinctive feature of modern democratic Britain.

Our pupils will be encouraged to see the value to society that is represented by the richly varied heritages of the members of the Park Ward community.

Responsibility

An awareness of the impact that one’s actions have on others.

This is the essence of our multi-faceted educational offer: we highlight how under-performance in academic, social and health domains has broad and far-reaching consequences for oneself and others.

Ambition

Our conviction is that all pupils can achieve success in every aspect of our curriculum, regardless of socio-economic background.

Our ethos will instil an attitude of confident ambition in our pupils and encourage them to become conscientious and independent adults of the future.

Tolerance

Our pupils have the capacity to live harmoniously and constructively alongside those with whom they differ in opinion or faith.

These differences can be seen as an opportunity to act as role models through good morals and inspirational behaviour.
